How can we help?

Email support@spotterlifts.com and a person will read it.

To help us sort it out quickly, include your iPhone model, your iOS version, the Spotter build you're on, and what happened.

Never send passwords or sign-in codes to support. We will never ask you to share them by email or message.

Getting started

  • Is Spotter on the App Store?

Not yet. Spotter is in TestFlight beta, and access is by invitation. See Join the beta for how it works.

  • Do I need an account?

You can log and track workouts without an account. An account is required for cloud backup, friends, leagues and challenges. Signing in does not turn on cloud backup; you choose whether to enable it.

Voice and Watch

  • Do I have to use voice?

No. Every set can be logged with the on-screen controls. Voice is there when you want it, and you can review and correct anything it logs.

  • Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Spotter works on iPhone alone. With Apple Watch you can see the current exercise and target on your wrist and log a set from there. With your permission, Spotter can also record heart-rate readings and estimated active calories during an Apple Watch workout.

Friends and invites

  • My invite won't open.

Follow the invite steps in order:

    1. Install Spotter. Invites connect you inside the app.
    2. Open your friend's link again from the message they sent you. With Spotter installed it opens the app; on the web page, tap Open Spotter. You can also type the invite code when Spotter asks Have an invite?
    3. Spotter shows you who invited you. Tap Connect to add them.

Links that start with spotter.app are from an earlier build and no longer work. Ask your friend to send a new one from the app. If it still won’t open, email us the link your friend sent and we’ll sort it out.

  • Safety: reporting and blocking

Open the ellipsis (…) menu on a person, a shared workout or a challenge to Report it or Block the person. Your blocked list is in Privacy & sharing, where you can unblock someone.

We review reports promptly and prioritize threats, harassment and other serious abuse. Content that breaks the rules may be hidden and accounts may be suspended. The rules are in our Community Guidelines. You must be at least 13 years old to use Spotter.

Account and data

  • Does signing in restore my history on a new phone?

Signing in alone does not restore your workout history. Cloud backup is off until you turn it on. If you enabled it and have an available backup, sign in to the same Spotter account on your new phone and use the restore flow to recover the history in your latest backup. History stored only on your old phone cannot be recovered just by signing in.

  • How do I delete my account?

Account deletion starts inside Spotter. Deleting the app from your phone is not the same as deleting your account.
